The Intermodal iSeries, IMi, is ready to accommodate your needs in the rapidly evolving intermodal industry. Allowing patterns for repetitive moves, this system eliminates guesswork and manual tracking. Integrating intermodal functions with direct EDI connection from the carrier, the IMi includes load tender to intermodal carrier, siding events from intermodal carrier, freight bills from intermodal carrier, and electronic fund transfer to intermodal carrier. All events are logged into your existing order history in the host system, simplifying the dispatch and relay information. Integration with our Trailer Monitoring System can track detention at rail sidings and monitor days for containers to reduce per diem charges, and alerts can be sent to the designated parties prior to the detention beginning – effectively reducing detention charges and per diem costs to carriers.
IMi provides a native iSeries Intermodal/EDI solution that updates the information in the existing order history file. The system also allows for patterns, records for movements from origin to destination, which can have as many as four or five carriers. The available loads screen helps with planning the final delivery, and can be filtered by area to work with a small region. The log records from the intermodal carrier are brought into the host system automatically with EDI, and the drop and pick-up numbers required to enter the yards can be sent automatically via telematics to the delivery unit. You can also send notifications of detention to multiple contacts via email. Lastly, reduce errors in approving and paying intermodal carriers with the system’s different intermodal freight bill viewing options.
