Unit/Trailer Detention

Our rules-based system allows carriers to easily monitor, notify, bill, and collect for driver detention with our detention monitoring system, DMi. All trucking companies face the issue of detention, which reduces efficient use of driver hours, but until now there were not any systems in place to effectively manage the frustrations of complicated tracking, notifying and billing. Telematic systems provide the required timely arrival and departure information to track detention, but without a system to manage all of the data, a company can become inundated with detail and missed opportunities.

DMi can solve these problems for you by allowing for the easy tracking of detention information, billing for any detention time, and notification of detention events – a requirement by many customers to even be able to bill for detention. You can also utilize our driver pay module to pay driver and owner operator detention pay quickly and conveniently.

“The greatest benefit from the AOS Tractor Detention module is increased utilization. We were able to decrease the driver’s unloading/loading time at our customer sites thus allowing our drivers to focus more time driving. With that said, it also assisted us with providing better service to the customer.” –Scott Miller, Equipment Resource Manager, Celadon

“A fantastic system! We implemented the Add On Systems Tractor Detention and Driver Pay system with our TMW TL2000 system and it has been one of the most successful software applications we have ever utilized. The system has improved driver satisfaction, improved utilization of our equipment, with a fast Return on Investment.” –VP of Operations, deBoer Transportation Inc.

“Waiting time at the customer is a no win situation – it costs the shipper, the carrier and the driver – everybody loses. Our goal is to work with our customers to minimize this as much as possible and it seems that charging for the time is the best motivation for reducing the time. The comment that best sums up the benefits of using the system was from one of our drivers who said, ‘Now that you’re paying more for waiting time, we aren’t getting any.’ I think that’s the greatest testament to the effectiveness of our efforts in using the Detention Monitoring System.” –Doug Kimmerly, VP M.I.S., XTL
