Planning Services
Planning drivers to match a customer’s load is critical to the success of every trucking company. However, there are some key pieces of the puzzle that must be taken into account in order to make the planning process run smoothly.
Before any planning can be done, the drivers’ current Hours of Service 11-14-70 data must be known – which includes knowing the projected ETA (estimate time of arrival at destination), PTA (projected time available for next work assignment), and Available Work and Available Driving Hours at PTA. These are computed within our Hours of Service system to determine practical timeframes.
The customer’s required pick-up and delivery timeframes, including loaded and deadhead miles, must also be accounted for prior to planning. After all, delivering on time is an important part of providing excellent customer service. With accurate Hours of Service data, this system can let you know if pick-ups and deliveries can be made within appointment windows required by your customer while maintaining driver Hours of Service compliancy. This way, you’ll be able to know if a driver will be late or could potentially record an Hours of Service violation prior to dispatching that driver to the load.
The AOS Planning Service Productivity Tool will help you improve service, overall freight management, order management, Hours of Service efficiency, and more. all without spending an exorbitant amount on an optimization system. When you plan with this Add On Systems tool, you can plan for success.
